My Story

Judaism has been my foundation since I was a little girl. As a child of divorce, I learned that life can be hard and messy and that Judaism can provide a framework and a set of values for living an authentic and meaningful life.

I never fit in a box Jewishly, having my foot in the door of the Orthodox, Conservative, and Reform movements. Even having never met a woman rabbi, I decided at age 16 to become a rabbi. I always loved being Jewish and sharing what I love about Judaism with others. I appreciate that Judaism is about accepting ourselves as flawed people while encouraging us to grow into our best selves. I value the Jewish sensibility of showing up for each other, of knowing that life is better in community.

Professionally, from 2010-2022, I found ways to share my passion for Judaism with several hundred learners as the founding director of the Stephen Wise Temple Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Living. Always seeking opportunities for personal learning and growth, I found spiritual fulfillment for nearly a decade through Mussar (Jewish spiritual ethics) study, practice, and teaching.

For the past 20 years, I have been blessed with the opportunity to apply my education at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion by staying connected to both the rabbinic and education programs, working with the alumni and professional associations, teaching courses, and mentoring the next generation of Jewish professionals.

I am the proud partner to my husband, Joshua, with whom I’ve walked life’s path for more than a quarter century. We are appreciating our newly empty nest and leaning into the change. I am mom to two emerging adults, Micah and Avi, and I am currently learning the art of letting go while holding on as a daily spiritual practice.

Tell me your story.

Let’s embark on a journey of learning, reflection, and growth as we dream a ritual together that can turn your time of transition into a transformative moment.
